Salah double leads Liverpool to 4-1 Merseyside derby win
Liverpool secure biggest Premier League win at Goodison Park
Mohamed Salah scored twice as Liverpool cruised to a 4-1 victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Sunday. The win was Liverpool's biggest in the Premier League at Goodison Park, and moves them four points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.
Salah on fire
Salah has now scored 13 goals in 21 Premier League appearances this season, and his brace against Everton took his tally to 29 goals in all competitions. The Egyptian forward opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a clinical finish from inside the area, and he doubled Liverpool's lead just after the hour mark with a curling effort from outside the box.
Other goalscorers
Jordan Henderson and Diogo Jota also scored for Liverpool, while Richarlison netted a consolation goal for Everton. The win was Liverpool's third in a row in all competitions, and they will now turn their attention to their Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Everton's poor run continues
Everton, meanwhile, have now lost four of their last five Premier League matches, and they remain in the relegation zone. The Toffees have just one win in their last seven league games, and they will need to start picking up points soon if they want to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
